Born on the island

Tommy & Ingrid
Sami · Born on Seiland Island
We are Sami — the indigenous people of northern Norway — and we have lived on Seiland our whole lives. Our family has farmed here for generations. When you stay with us, you are not visiting a tourist operation. You are a guest in our community.
Ingrid tends the farm — sheep, hens, and the daily bread that will be waiting for you each morning. Tommy knows every mountain, every fjord, every run on the surrounding islands. He takes you out on the boat and shows you terrain that most skiers will never see.
We love sharing Sami culture and the traditions of island life with our guests. Part of coming somewhere this remote is experiencing how people actually live here. We are happy to share that with you.
"We didn't build a business on the island. We just opened our home."

The Guides

Whitney Thurlow
IFMGA Certified Mountain Guide
Whitney has over 30 years of guiding experience — from pioneering guided skiing in Northwest China to winning a World Championship Telemark GS race, skiing is what Whitney does. This will be his 11th season guiding in Norway.
Whitney has a passion for Finnmark and is happiest when boating into a new fjord.

Anna Keeling
IFMGA Certified Mountain Guide
Anna's accomplishments include ski descents and climbing ascents from Northern India's Kedarnath to Denali's West Rib, as well as wins in international adventure races and New Zealand's Coast to Coast. In addition to her guiding business in New Zealand, she is currently President of the New Zealand Mountain Guide Association.
This will be her fourth season guiding in Norway's far north and Svalbard.
